The songs I recorded with my Litton mini-tape player that I bought at a surplus store at the mall down the street (speaking of which, did you notice that the Minimall Flea Market furniture store ad was on SNL on Sat?) which I had always coveted since the redhead girl I kinda dug/sat next to in a class in 2nd grade (for realz - Peanuts reference coincidental) had one that her Mom gave her after her parents got divorced as I recall.. was Allentown by Billy Joel. 'Paperlace' was also a song I spent some time pondering the meaning of around the same time. I still have it on tape.
Believe it or not, this was the first song I recorded off of the radio.
ReplyDeleteI recorded it by holding one of those old rectangular, mono, psychiatrists' tape recorder up to the radio to catch the sound.
I will PayPal you $5 if you can tell me what the first cassette, full length album I bought was.
What year was it?
